Music Education

Excellence as a musician is as important as having a strong theoretical and practical foundation in music education. Our carefully coordinated courses emphasize how to sequence instruction for students' musical development and incorporate ideas drawn from theory, research, and the practical experiences of the faculty and other successful practitioners.

Meet Professor Don D. Coffman

Professor Don D. Coffman has over 40 years of teaching experience spanning elementary, junior high, high school, university, and community band settings. He is an internationally known scholar with over 100 publications and 100 presentations in 13 countries around the globe. He is Professor and Chair of the Department of Music Education and Music Therapy at Frost.
